A Kremlin view apartment Reborn

The apartment – 220 sqm inside a 1915 merchant society building in central Moscow, heritage-protected, with 3.6-metre ceilings and views toward the Kremlin  was derelict when I first encountered it: no internal walls, no plaster, rain leaking through the roof, pigeons nesting inside, and a single clawfoot bathtub abandoned on the bare floor.

The design reads the ruin as a framework rather than restoring a historical layout. The result is a sequence of spaces calibrated between openness and enclosure: a salon with a grand piano, a DJ console and dining for twelve alongside a library of antique books behind sliding partitions, all shaped around the clients' need for a restorative domestic environment. Classical details ground the apartment in the building's past; a restrained contemporary palette keeps it present.
